Dr. Yudhi was the Deputy Director of Program and Development as well as, Program and Marketing, for the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) from 2005 to 2009. He also served as the Education and Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Canberra, Australia from 2001 to 2005.
Dr. Yudhi had a distinguished history of work in international education and cultural cooperation. He has worked with a lot of educational institutions in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and Australia. He continues to build Indonesian educational system through his work as Rector of Sampoerna University, which educates Indonesia’s future leaders to be globally competitive, and grows entrepreneurial leaders with a strong commitment to build local and global communities.
Dr. Lauren E. Clarke is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Sampoerna University American College and Vice Rector of General Education at Sampoerna University. Previously, she served as Dean for International Students and Global Engagement at Amherst College in Massachusetts.. She has also held senior administrative positions at World Learning, Dartmouth College, Johns Hopkins University’s School for Advanced International Studies, and the University of Pennsylvania.Dr. Clarke is passionate about empowering people through education and developing institutions to prepare tomorrow’s leaders. This can be witnessed from her 30 years of management experience in international education projects in the U.S. and abroad, such as Afghanistan, Bulgaria, the Central Asian Republics, Cuba, Jordan, Morocco, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, and Vietnam.
Having been the chair of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Education Advisory Committee at the Greater Houston Partnership’s Regional Workforce Development Task Force since 2012, Dr. Schott is the champion of STEM education and the 21st century learning in the Sampoerna Schools System. He spearheads initiatives in support of academic planning, curriculum development, institutional compliance, international programs, online learning, and high school and university partnerships for both Sampoerna Academy and Sampoerna University.
Dr. Schott previously served as the Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice President for Outreach and Planning at the University of Houston. He later took on the role of the Associate Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs, at Lone Star College System before joining the Sampoerna Schools System. Dr. Schott received his Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University, and his Masters’s Degree and Ph.D. in History from Louisana State University.
Dr. Soepriyatna is a passionate educator who has experience and expertise in teacher preparation and development. Having a lot of involvement in facilitating teacher trainings, and Training-of-Trainers (ToT) for various institutions, he has developed training modules and test instruments that are transformative in nature and can bring participants into a new teaching perspective.
He was invited to publish his research on Teacher Competence in Malaysian Journal of English Language Teaching (ELT) Research, and awarded grant by ASIA TEFL (Teaching English for Foreign Language) for his research on Teacher Talk. He believes that teacher is the key factor to a more qualified education. This has brought him to join Sampoerna University that creates future leaders, a new generation of educators.
Dr. Chandra began his career as an executive in a local freight forwarding company. He later spent over 23 years working at Total in Indonesia, serving in various senior positions dealing with oil and gas operations, as well as project coordination activities. During his service in the company, he was actively involved in various national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops related to oil and gas as a speaker, chairman or core delegate.
Dr. Chandra is now dedicating his time to teaching and learning activities in higher education. He has served as Academic Director at IPMI Business School in Jakarta, and appointed as Dean of Faculty of Business at Sampoerna University in June 2014. He continues to build cooperations and partnerships with national and international institutions, widening the network for Sampoerna University’s students and future business leaders in Indonesia.
Nisa earned her Doctoral degree in education policy and leadership. Her interests focus on school improvement and educational opportunities. She took part in research project that explored the strategies applied by odds-beating schools in New York State, which served predominantly underprivileged children yet they managed to perform relatively higher than other similar schools in standardized tests. Her dissertation, on the other hand, focused on educational opportunities for children in Eastern Indonesia, identifying school and out-of-school factors that could explain cognitive performance disparities among children in that region. Funded by UNESCO-IIEP, she also conducted case study research on accountability in education sector in Indonesia.
Nisa joined Putera Sampoerna Foundation in 2008, after she graduated from her Master’s Degree and after having experience in teaching in elementary school classrooms for over 3 years. She started her career with PSF as an in-service teacher professional development facilitators, and in 2009 she officially became the lecturer of Sampoerna School of Education.
Dr. Aamer has more than 19 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Management, Training, and Teaching. Dr. Aamer has provided consulting services to more than 30 international organizations in the areas of Manufacturing Systems, Projects Evaluation & Monitoring, Supply Chain Management, Facilities Design and Layout, Process and Quality Improvement, Capacity Analysis, and Simulation modeling. Through his career, Dr. Aamer has delivered and designed several Training and Capacity building courses. For his contribution in the field of academics, he has been awarded funding and grants from the World Bank, the United States Agency in International Development (USAID), and the United Nation Development Program (UNDP).
