Sampoerna University American College is the only educational program in Indonesia where you can take the first two years of your U.S. Bachelor degree in Indonesia, before opting to transfer to your U.S. university of choice to finish your degree. Alternatively, you can choose to stay here in Indonesia and finish your studies in Engineering & Technology or Business and still earn a U.S. degree from Louisiana State University or Oregon State University.
The Program consists of General Education courses which are an essential part of the American higher education system and provide you with the broad foundation of knowledge, skills, and behavior needed to ensure successful admission to the most prestigious universities in the U.S.


Our General Education courses are set to meet the core requirements of top American universities. The courses are designed to assist you in familiarizing yourself with the rigor of the American education prior to transferring to the United States, so you can make sure everything is in place for a successful transfer. To meet the core and transfer requirements of leading American universities, depending on your academic plan, you must fulfill 36 to 42 credits of our General Education coursework, which covers:

  • Communications (e.g. Introduction to public speaking)
  • Humanities (g. Introduction to Philosophy)
  • Social & Behavioral Science (e.g. General Psychology)
  • Science, Lab & Wellness (e.g. Introduction to Environmental Science)
  • Mathematics (e.g. Statistics)

Together with the General Education courses, you will enjoy a balanced mix of specialized electives to ensure a strong academic foundation that prepares you to successfully transfer to your U.S. university of choice.

Between the General Education classes and the speicialized electives, you will have a chance to complete up to 60 credits and earn an associate degree issued by Broward College by fulfilling all requirements.
